The 'Fawkes' Dress: Finally an outfit named after my littlest chicklet, Fawkes-y Girl!!! She absolutely demanded that this one be hers FOREVER!! Let me tell you why she loves it so much...
First, it's a separate top and skirt... The gold sequin top laces up in the back and slips on from the front, super easy, super comfortable. The flutter sleeves are sewn on, and add just that touch of whimsy without getting in the way. There's also a detachable velvet bow that you can put on the collar, on the waist, or even in the hair! (I like it on the collar, she likes it in her hair.)
Now for the skirt....The waist is stretchy, like REALLY stretchy. At its smallest unstretched, it's 18". At its widest, fully stretched open, it's 36", so obvi it has a ton of give and just feels really nice on the waist.
Now for the actual fabric of the skirt.... As you can see, it's a high-low, so it's giving her the flowing, fluttery feeling of a full-length gown, where she can feel it fluttering against her legs and ankles, and gets that "wind in the hair, dress streaming out behind you as you run from the castle guards" vibes, but being short in front, means it doesn't get in the way of climbing trees or riding scooters, or whatever it is that princesses fill their time with these days...
As for the actual fabric, its a beautiful color palette of pinks and greens in super soft chiffon and mesh, literally so soft she actually wore this for three days straight and slept in it each night until I pried it away from her...
